The treatment process must be completed by stabilizing the position of the displaced teeth. The retention period generally lasts twice as long as the active duration of orthodontic treatment. During the retention period, a retainer is recommended.
The A-ligner system uses a highly specialized material with increased durability and resistance to discoloration, which allows the last overlay to be used as a “Retainer for Life” (the durability of the material is expected to last approximately 2 years).
The patient receives a retainer and a 3D printout of the final diagnostic model (for the purpose of making possible copies of the retainer in the future).
